There’s something very special about seeing the first snowdrops appear and knowing that spring is around the corner. Snowdrops usually flower from January through to the end of February depending on the weather. There are some fantastic places to go for a snowdrop walk in Gloucestershire or venture a little further to Oxfordshire
Batsford Arboretum

Colesbourne Gardens
Colesbourne Gardens is the premier place to see snowdrops in bloom. The collection is probably the most varied of any garden on display, with over three hundred varieties of this spectacular harbinger of spring on show during the short season. Over 10 acres of private gardens and woodland walks with a mix of snowdrops, hellebores, cyclamen and a wide variety of early flowering shrubs.
The snowdrop gardens will open for weekends from 27th/28th January 2024 The gardens will be open, weather permitting, every weekend until the last weekend on 24th/25th February.
Cerney Gardens
Cerney House Gardens is a romantic, secret place in the Cotswolds, near to Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Tickets are Adults £6 per person Children £1. There are lots of snowdrops around the woodland walk, especially at the top of the wood, back of the tea rooms and house. Grab a map at the entrance and you’ll not miss any. Find out more.

Rodmarton Manor
There are 150 different types of snowdrops at Rodmarton Manor including several rare ones. A beautiful 8 acre Cotswold Garden nestled in Gloucestershire, the gardens will be open during the snowdrop season February – 7th, 10th, 14th, 17th, 21st & 24th – 1.30pm onwards. Find out more.
Cotswold Farm Gardens
In January and February an established snowdrop collection can be enjoyed at Cotswold Farm Gardens near Cirencester. Begun in the 1930’s and further developed by Ruth Birchall in the 1980’s and 90’s, there are over 80 varieties, named and naturalised, in the borders and along the woodland paths. The garden is open Mondays 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th 11am-3pm, Sat 17th & Sun 18th February 11am-3pm for NGS – £7.50 (Children free)
Dyrham Park
Dyrham is home to more than half a dozen types of snowdrop, most of which occur naturally, although they are helped along with annual snowdrop dividing sessions carried out by the garden team to encourage growth the following year.
