Bright, bold and colourful, Sixes Social Cricket is a cricket experience with a difference. Located at the top of the Westgate Shopping Centre in central Oxford, it’s indoor play with a difference.
The cricket experience mixes technology with hands on fun and ideal for a mix of ages. My boys (ages 7, 11 and 13) had a great time on a cold, wet January day in the school holidays with their friends.
We booked on to a 45 minute session (longer sessions available for 5+ players) and instead of having everyone on one net for the 45 minutes, booked 2 nets so everyone would get more goes. It would have been the same price per person for 1 net or 2 but they were spaced out by 15 minutes. This was the most efficient way we found to maximise the time everyone could have playing so worth doing a check on options if you’re thinking of going.
Each player can set their own skill level starting from beginner right up to super experienced and you can change this through the game too. The bowler is projected onto a screen in front and then a ball is fired from a hole.
It’s not easy finding activities that will keep all three of my boys interested as they vary in age so it was great to find something that was just as fun for my 7 year old through to my teenager.
While it’s great fun as an indoor family activity in Oxford, it would also be great for a night out for grown ups too. It would make a great Oxford stag do activity.
Sixes Cricket also have a restaurant and bar with a kids menus as well as pizzas and sharing plate.
