The splash pad at Riverside Park in Wallingford was totally upgraded in 2023 just in time for the summer. Riverside Park & Pools opens for the 2024 season from Saturday 25th May 2024 just in time for May half term and will be open daily from 9am to 5pm until early September.
The new splash pad features sensor operated water jets, tall sprinklers, tipping buckets a water tunnel and lots of alternating fountains.
The Wallingford splash pad at Rivermead Park is right next to the heated open air pool. The splash pad is totally free visit with no booking required and no time limits. It’s surrounded by a low fence so you don’t need to worry about little ones running off.
Surrounding the splash pad is a grassy area with a few benches but worth bringing a picnic mat to sit on if it’s a warm day and busy. There’s not any shade over the splash park itself but there are trees running along the far end so you could settle under there to get out of the sun.
Worth noting that there aren’t any toilets or changing facilities.
