We visited the Lambing Shed Farm Shop & Café in Knutsford, and it turned out to be the perfect family outing. We’d heard great things about the place, especially the playground, so we were excited to check it out for ourselves.

As soon as we arrived, the kids made a beeline for the new and upgraded playground. It’s a fantastic spot and though quite small plenty to keep them entertained. The equipment is all brand new and really well thought out, with everything from slides to climbing frames and some great wooden and plastic tractors.

It’s safe and fenced in, so the kids could run around and have fun while we relaxed on the picnic benches inside the park. It was hard to pull them away when it was time to eat, but that’s always a good sign!

One of the unexpected highlights of our visit was meeting the baby goats. They were absolutely adorable, and the kids were completely captivated. Watching them interact with the animals was a real treat and added a special touch to the day especially for our animal obsessed little girl.

After some time in the playground and with the goats, we decided to grab a bite at the café. The iced lattes caught our eye, and while they were a bit on the pricier side, they were absolutely delicious. The food didn’t disappoint either—especially the sausages. They were hands-down some of the best we’ve had, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The kids enjoyed their meals too, and we all left the café feeling full and satisfied.

Before we left, we couldn’t resist popping into the farm shop. It’s packed with amazing local produce, and we ended up leaving with quite the haul. We picked up some frozen croissants that looked too good to pass up, along with a selection of pies and sausage rolls. The quality of everything was top-notch, and it’s clear that The Lambing Shed is the best place to go for locally produced food.

We’re already looking forward to enjoying those croissants for breakfast at home. The combination of a fun, new playground, the chance to interact with adorable baby goats, and the delicious food and drinks made it a day to remember. While the iced lattes and items from the deli were  a bit on the expensive side, they were great for a one off treat and you know you’re contributing to British farming and a family business.

They grow their own pumpkins too and have the pumpkin picking patch is back for 2024.
