Shaun the Sheep: Find the Flock at Tatton Park
29 March - 23 June
We headed to Tatton Park on Sunday and unexpectedly has the most glorious day! The sun was out in full force and spent the full day there arriving at 10am and leaving about 6pm!
We started the day exploring the playground! It was so much fun, we loved the zip wire especially and the different swing they had, from baby to adult there was something for everyone which we all really enjoyed.
We had lunch in the cafe in the courtyard, enjoying a delicious venison burger and children sausage and chips! Whilst the queue for the food was quite long and a little hectic it was definitely worth the wait!
We then headed into Tatton Park Gardens to find the flock! Find the flock! Is a new trail where visitors to Tatton Park can follow an excitingarts trail of 12 super-sized Shaun the Sheep sculptures, each of which is uniquely designed and painted by a group of artists from across the region.
The trail is the result of a collaboration with BAFTA® award-winning production studio, Aardman, and global art producer, Wild in Art, which sees one of Aardman’s much loved characters, and star of film and television, ‘Shaun the Sheep’ coming to Tatton Park this spring.
Our little girl absolutely loved finding the sheep and thought the house looked like a princess castle! Set up on the grass just to the left of the house was a lovely area with children’s games, we enjoyed playing limbo, noughts and crosses and our little girl enjoyed the space hoppers!
I couldn’t believe how beautiful the gardens were, I was blown away! We did take a stroller and it was manageable there were a few steps but we managed to avoid. My favourite part was definitely the greenhouse, I had never quite seen anything else like it! It felt magical and our little girl kept asking if fairies lived there.
- Parking: depends on the season but currently £9.50
- Dog Friendly: dogs welcome in the garden on a lead from 1st May not before
- Cost: free for National Trust members, £1 for a Shaun the Sheep trail map otherwise £9 adult entry to gardens, £7 child and £17 family ticket
- Top tip: Next to the house is some lovely garden games which most people seem to miss out: also check out the greenhouse- we were stunned and how unusual and beautiful it was- a complete surprise!
