Beauty and the Beast at the Wycombe Swan theatre in High Wycombe was an absolutely beautiful pantomime. I had a little tear at one point and belly laughed too.
It had all the amazingly funny parts of a panto including audience participation but also had some really beautiful emotional moments. The girls and I absolutely adored it.
The story telling during the panto was great. Actress, singer and TV star, Suzanne Shaw played the magical enchantress and Betsy loved her sparkly dress the most! The costumes were fab and super impressive.
Jon Clegg did some of his famous impressions – which I must admit was my favourite part as it really had me laughing. He was great in the role of Percy and really got the audience involved.
La Voix was everything I hoped and more! She was hilarious as a Dame and really got the crowd laughing. Bringing all her glamour and humour, she is so obviously adored by the audience. With 19 years of panto experience and a semi-finalist on Britain’s Got Talent, La Voix has been dazzling audience with her big vocals and charisma everywhere from her smash hit international tour to a cameo role in Ab Fab The Movie.
The actor and actress playing Belle and the Prince/Beast were amazing singers. The Beasts solo really got me and I thought he was simply incredible. The audience getting involved at the end was Bella’s favourite part… it may have involved some bodily gas .
All in all what a wonderful pantomime. Our first at this theatre and certainly hope it’s not the last! Absolutely loved it.
Parking was nice and easy- right next to the theatre and plenty of spaces available. The staff were incredibly polite, kind and helpful. There are also lots of food and drink available including popcorn, candy floss and other sweet treats and snacks. The girls loved their light up wands- what’s a panto without hey!
