Active Chef School Holiday Cookery Workshop | Banbury

Introducing Active Chefs this May ( for children aged 8-14 years )  – a really fun way to introduce young people to the enjoyment that comes from cooking.

Aiming to inspire children to get cooking and develop their skills in the kitchen by creating nutritious food from scratch.

Available on Thursday of the May holiday our Active chefs will be preparing and making a variety of sweet and savoury dishes.

Thursday 30th May – Focaccia Taste test – rocky road Showstopper – Cupcakes
9.30-4.00pm: Our active chefs May Bakeoff consists of three cookery challenges to be judged by our guest judge (TBA).

The Technical Challenge -Focaccia Practice your kneading skills making sure not to over knead your bread.
The Taste Test- Nut free Rocky Road Put your own spin on the classic rocky road with a selection of fun fillings – marshmallows, meringues, cherries, popcorn, biscuits, dried fruit, honeycomb, fudge etc.
The Showstopper- Cupcakes Learn the “ rose swirl “ piping technique, make fondant icing decorations to embellish your vanilla cupcakes.

All dishes are vegetarian but dishes can be made with vegan alternatives if requested in advance. Please contact us separately to organise this.

All ingredients, cooking equipment, packaging and recipe sheets are provided but please bring your own apron together with a packed lunch.

Please note: Before and after the Chefs program begins, the children will integrate with the Active Camps program to provide the extended hours required by parents
